Understanding the Tier System
Tier lists are about relative strength, not just raw numbers.
Instead of ranking champions by a single stat, this tier list evaluates how each champion performs compared to others in the same role and rank, using multiple signals:
- Win Rate — overall performance
- Pick Rate — presence and consistency in the meta
- Ban Rate — perceived threat and draft impact
- Trend — whether the champion is rising or falling
These metrics are combined to understand meta impact, not just efficiency.
How tiers are distributed
Tiers are not evenly split.
- A Tier represents a healthy, balanced meta and usually contains most champions
- S Tier includes champions that are clearly above average
- S+ Tier is reserved for rare, meta-defining outliers that stand noticeably apart from the rest
- B and C Tiers indicate champions that struggle or require very specific conditions to succeed
Being the “best of the group” does not automatically make a champion S or S+. Only champions that create a clear gap in performance or meta influence are placed there.
Why this approach
Relying on a single metric (like win rate alone) can be misleading, especially for niche or low-pick champions.
This system aims to reflect:
- What is consistently strong
- What shapes drafts and bans
- What actually defines the current meta
